Condors Offer Incentive Programs for Kern County Schools
Bakersfield, Calif. – The Bakersfield Condors are partnering up with Kern County Schools to offer two incentive programs to reward local area students during the 2011-12 school year. Each program gives students the opportunity to earn FREE tickets to a select Condors game for their efforts in the classroom.
The T.H.I.N.K. (Turn Hockey Into New Knowledge) Program, sponsored by Mercy and Memorial Hospitals and Diamond Technologies, is designed to award academic achievement and good behavior at the elementary and middle school levels. The specific criterion required for a student to earn a complimentary ticket to a game is entirely determined by the participating school or teacher. All elementary and middle schools in Kern County are invited to participate in the program. Schools taking part in the program are eligible to participate in one of four scheduled T.H.I.N.K. nights listed below.

Sat. Oct. 29 – Star Wars Night/ Team Poster Giveaway
Fri. Dec. 9 – Pocoyo Appearance
Fri. Jan. 27 – Toothbrush Giveaway
Sat. Mar. 17 – Condors Fighting Cancer Hockey-Thon
Each ticket voucher includes a detachable registration form which students can fill out and deposit when they redeem their voucher at the Rabobank Arena box office. A finalist is drawn at each T.H.I.N.K. night, making them eligible for the grand prize drawing on the final T.H.I.N.K. night of the season. The winner will receive a brand new computer provided by Diamond Technologies!
Classroom Champions, sponsored by ABC23 and SC Architect Inc., is a program that provides a tangible incentive for students to achieve outstanding attendance levels at school. The attendance goal required to earn a complimentary ticket is determined by the school or teacher. All elementary and middle schools in Kern County are invited to participate in the program. Schools are eligible to participate in one of four scheduled Condors Classroom Champions nights listed below.

Prior to the designated T.H.I.N.K. and Condors Classroom Champions games, Condors players and mascots are available to participate in an assembly at the school to congratulate students on reaching their academic achievement and attendance goals. Availability of player visits is limited, so don’t delay, call today to sign up your school and make sure you reserve a player or mascot for your school! Due to the large number of schools involved, we can only accommodate your school for ONE of the previously listed programs.

Condors 14th Annual Charity Golf Classic:
The Condors host their 14th Annual Charity Golf Classic on Monday, Oct. 17 at Noon. This year’s event will be at RiverLakes Golf Course located at 5201 RiverLakes Dr. Teams are comprised of four entrants and a Condors player at a cost of $125 per person. Entry fee includes greens fees, cart, range balls, a sack lunch, one free putt in the putting contest, three free raffle tickets, specialty hat and a goodie bag. The Condors home opener is just 10 days away, when the Colorado Eagles come to town on Saturday, Oct. 15. Game time is 7 p.m. Ticket packages for the 2011-12 season are now on sale, starting at just $48.
