Condors host Colorado – TONIGHT

The Bakersfield Condors host the Colorado Eagles for the first oftwo games on the weekend at Rabobank Arena. It is the seventh meeting of the season between the two sides. The Condors own a 2-4-0-0 record against Colorado with both victories coming in Bakersfield.
IN CASE YOU MISSED IT
The Condors fired a season-high 56 shots on Stockton G Olivier Roy, but he denied 55 of them as Bakersfield fell, 4-1, to the Thunder on Wednesday night. Bakersfield went on to outshoot the Thunder by a two-to-one margin, 56-28. LW Jesse Gimblett scored the lone goal, his 12th of the season for the Condors, in the loss.
The Eagles were swept in three games on home ice by the Las Vegas Wranglers last week. They did garner a point in the first game, a 3-2 overtime loss, but fell in games two and three by scores of 5-0 and 6-2 respectively.
CONDORS NOTES
NHL veteran LW Kyle Calder was signed today…F Alex Hudson was loaned to Manchester (AHL)…RW Tyler Helfrich was named Kern Trophies Condor of the Month for the month of January. He had eight points (4g-4a) in 11 games played…G Matt Keetley picked up his second assist of the season on Wednesday night, assisting on LW Jesse Gimblett’s third period tally…F Chris Kushneriuk and F Peter Boyd each returned from injury on Wednesday…Bakersfield is currently 0-3-1 on a season-high six-game home stand..The Condors lead the league with 1,052 PIM and a 23.38 penalty minutes per game average.
EAGLES NOTES
Colorado will be without the services of three key members of their lineup who are currently on loan to the American Hockey League. The team’s top two leading scorers, F Chad Costello (57p) and F Jack Combs (37p), are both with the Worcester Sharks, while one of their top D Jon Landry is with the Bridgeport Sound Tigers…D Aaron Schneekloth leads the ECHL in scoring among defensemen with 33 points (12g-21a)…D/F Alex Penner leads the league with 168 penalty minutes.
