Could you tell me what “DEL” and “SPC” stand for?

Comments: I was looking at the transactions and I see some of the guys have, “DEL’ by their name, and some have, “SPC.” Could you tell me what those stand for please? Thanks…GO CONDORS

Reply: ‘DEL’ stands for ‘delete’… when a player is removed from the active roster – placed on IR, goes up to the AHL, or is released – he is listed as being ‘deleted’. An ‘SPC’ is short for a standard player contract, which is the typical contract a player signs.
