CONDORSTOWN, Calif. – The Bakersfield Condors announced today that the team has signed RW Chad Butcher, LW Evan Polei, and RW Dave Gust to American Hockey League (AHL) contracts for the 2017-18 season. BUTCHER – 21 years old, 5’10”, 172 lbs., Kamloops, British Columbia
- Led the Medicine Hat Tigers of the Western Hockey League (WHL) in scoring in each of the past two seasons
- Finished fourth in the WHL scoring race this season with 103 points (27g-76a) in 68 games
- Recorded 259 points (82g-177a) in 301 career WHL games
- Attended 2016 NHL Training Camp with Edmonton as a free agent invite
POLEI – 21 years old, 6’1″, 230 lbs. Wetaskiwin, Alberta
- Made his professional debut with Bakersfield at the end of the 2016-17 season on an Amateur Try-Out deal and had two penalty minutes in one game
- Led the Red Deer Rebels (WHL) in goals with 33, finished third on the team in scoring with 62 points (33g-29a) in 69 games, and topped the team with 104 penalty minutes
- Amassed 131 points (72g-59a) in 242 WHL games with 307 penalty minutes, including two goals in four games at the 2016 Memorial Cup for hosts Red Deer
GUST – 23 years old, 5’10”, 176 lbs., Orland Park, Illinois
- Tied for second on the Ohio State Buckeyes in scoring in 2016-17 with 41 points (18g-23a) in 39 games
- Named to the 2016-17 Big Ten All-Tournament Team
- Had 94 points (37g-57a) in 126 career NCAA games
- Four-time Ohio State Scholar-Athlete and a three-time Academic All-Big Ten selection
