Condors fall to Eagles
CONDORSTOWN, Calif. – The Colorado Eagles (23-16-1-4, 51pts) used a three-goal first period to cruise to a 6-3 win over the Bakersfield Condors (10-31-4-1, 25pts) in front of 4,338 at Rabobank Arena Friday night.
Bakersfield cut into the lead in the second frame when F Tyler Helfrich scored at 12:22 to make it 3-1. But the Eagles responded with two goals in the next five minutes to take a commanding 5-1 lead through 40 minutes.
Condors rookie D Tyson Gimblett notched his second goal of the season at 6:17, cutting the lead down to 5-2. Then LW Kyle Calder added a tally at 15:27 to make it 5-3, but an Eagles goal just 18 seconds later quelled the Condors hopes for a comeback.
Space Jersey Off Our Backs Night on Saturday
Saturday the team will wear space jerseys for a Jersey Off Our Backs Night, sponsored by Bright House Networks, La Campesina 92.5, and Bud Light. Five of the jerseys will be given away for free and the rest will be auctioned off to benefit the Asthma and COPD Education Center.
