Condors make it three in a row on home ice, 6-2 over Idaho
For the second straight night the Condors power play gave them a leg up in the opening frame. D Kyle Haines scored twice and D Deron Cousens each lit the lamp in the first, sandwiched around a tally by Idaho, and Bakersfield held a 3-1 lead through 20 minutes. The lead was gift-wrapped by Idaho, who gave the Condors seven first period power plays. Shots were 13-10 Condors in the first.
Bakersfield extended the lead in the middle frame. Newcomer F Nicholas Tremblay scored twice, once during 4-on-4 play and once on a redirect on the power play to make it 5-1. Despite an Idaho shot lead of 29-21, the Condors took the advantage into the dressing room. G Brian Stewart had 28 saves on the ledger through two periods.
The Condors added another in the third with F Tyler Brenner lighting the lamp for the second straight night. Tremblay picked up the primary assist on the play for his fourth point of the night. Bakersfield earned a season-high 13 power plays on the evening, bringing their two-game total to 21 against the Steelheads this weekend. Idaho added a shorthanded goal in the final minute to account for the final score, though Stewart finished with 39 saves and was the 2nd star of the game.
