CONDORS SIGN WELLS AND VESEL TO TRYOUTS
CONDORSTOWN, Calif. – The Bakersfield Condors have signed goaltender Dylan Wells and C Tyler Vesel to a try-out deasl. Wells was a 5th round (#123 overall) selection in the 2016 NHL Draft by the Edmonton Oilers and will wear number 40. Vesel was selected in the 6th round (#153 overall) of the 2014 NHL Draft by Edmonton. He will wear number 14.
WELLS – 20 years old, 6’2″, 190 lbs., Catches: Left, St. Catherines, Ontario, Canada
- Was 20-30-3 with a 3.62 goals-against average and a .896 save percentage with the Peterborough Petes of the Ontario Hockey League (OHL) in 2017-18
- His 3,230 minutes ranked 5th among all OHL goaltenders this season
- In 2016-17, Wells went 33-15-2 with a 3.07 GAA and a .916 save percentage
- His 33 wins tied for third among all goaltenders and his .916 save percentage tied for sixth
- Signed a three-year NHL entry level contract with Edmonton on May 17, 2017 which would begin with the 2018-19 season
- Named 2016-17 Peterborough Petes MVP
- Won a Ivan Hlinka Gold Medal in 2015 and was named to the CHL Top Prospects Game in 2015-16
VESEL – 23 years old, 5’11”, 190 lbs., Shoots: Right, Rochester, Minnesota
- Amassed 108 points (39g-69a) in 149 games with the University of Nebraska-Omaha
- Second on the Mavericks in scoring with 32 points (11g-21a) in 36 games this season with his 21 assists tying for the team lead
- Three-time NCHC Academic All-Conference, Two-time NCHC Scholar-Athlete, and the co-recipient of the 2016-17 NCHC Sportsmanship Award
- Had an assist on UNO’s only goal against Providence in the 2015 Frozen Four
