Condors stymied by Idaho
Idaho got on the board first with a shorthanded tally from F Kael Mouillierat after he deflected a shot and was able to sneak one past Condors G Scott Greenham at the `16:03 mark to give the Steelheads a 1-0 lead. The Condors were outshot 17-10.
The Toronto Maple Leafs prospect Brenner equalized for Bakersfield 6:05 into the second period on the power play, taking a feed from D Olivier Dame-Malka and snapping a quick shot from the slot to tie the game at 1-1. The Steelheads pulled back in front at 13:53 after F Jacob Cepis finished off a two-on-one and put Idaho ahead, 2-1. Brenner rescued the Condors again though, walking down the right wing and ringing a wrist shot off the post and in to tie the game at 2-2, 15:51 into the frame. The Condors would get a late power-play as well, but it was Idaho who benefited with Justin Dowling scoring shorthanded to give the Steelheads a 3-2 intermission lead. Idaho outshot Bakersfield, 14-13.
Mouillierat got his second of the night to extend the lead to 4-2 at 2:24 of the third period. F Alex Hudson would halve the lead at 4-3, forcing a turnover and going through the five-hole of Idaho G Josh Robinson at 8:34. That would be as close as the Condors would get though as Mouillierat capped the hat trick at 8:34 and F Sam Carrick put the game away at 17:28 for a 6-3 Steelheads win.
