Condors succumb to Stockton despite 56-shot effort
CONDORSTOWN, Calif. – The Stockton Thunder (22-18-1-3, 48pts) received a 55-save effort from G Olivier Roy, and took down the Bakersfield Condors (10-30-4-1, 25pts) 4-1 at Rabobank Arena Wednesday night.
Stockton blew the game open in the middle frame, scoring on two of their first three shots of the period, and adding a power play goal later in the period. Bakersfield posted 19 shots on goal again in the second, but F Chris Doyle scored twice and RW Kevin Baker added his team-leading 20th of the season.
Bakersfield finally got on the board with a power play goal by LW Jesse Gimblett at 3:46 of the frame. Bakersfield added another 17 shots in the period, but Roy stood strong, finishing with 55 saves on the night.
