Condors Weekly: A return to home ice this weekend

CONDORSTOWN – The Bakersfield Condors return from Alaska after three straight setbacks against the first place Aces. Their first win of the season has proven elusive, with a road contest in San Francisco and home games against Las Vegas and Stockton coming up this weekend. The Condors are 0-6-0-1 with one point in the standings.

Alaskan Deep Freeze, – Aces win 6-3, 5-0, 4-0
The Condors three-game jaunt to Anchorage started out brilliantly, as they opened the first game with leads of 2-0 and 3-1, behind goals by D Blake Kessel, D David Musil and F Jordan Knackstedt. But in the second frame Alaska rallied and it was the last time they trailed the entire weekend.
Alaska scored five unanswered goals in Friday’s game to take the 6-3 victory. They came back with two straight shutouts, courtesy of G Laurent Brossoit, en route to the sweep. With G Tyler Bunz still in the American Hockey League, G Paul Karpowich was left to shoulder the load all weekend in the Condors net.
