Currie signs AHL contract
CONDORSTOWN, Calif. – The Bakersfield Condors announced today that the team has signedC Josh Currie to an American Hockey League (AHL) contract for the 2016-17 AHL season. Currie had been an unrestricted free agent. For an updated Condors offseason player tracker, click here.
JOSH CURRIE – stats (5’11”, 187 lbs., Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island)
- Played 53 games with the Condors in 2015-16 and registered 24 points (10g-14a) while tying for the team lead in plus/minus at +8
- Joined the Condors from Norfolk (ECHL) on a professional try-out on Nov. 17 and earned an AHL contract for the remainder of 2015-16 on Jan. 23
- Notched two shorthanded goals and was one of the team’s leading penalty killers
- Finished last season with 14 points (6g-8a) in his final 14 games
- Led the 2014-15 ECHL Condors in scoring with 42 points (14g-28) in 71 games
- Played 154 games in the ECHL and had 85 points (35g-80a)
- Spent his junior career with the P.E.I. Rocket and finished third in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League in scoring in 2012-13 with 104 points (49g-55a) in just 68 games
