TONIGHT
The Bakersfield Condors host the Texas Stars for the first of six matchups on the season. Bakersfield went 4-2-0 against Texas last season, but the Stars hold the all-time season series, with five wins in nine games.IN CASE YOU MISSED IT
Bakersfield scored five unanswered to beat Manitoba, 5-2 last night. The Condors received two goals from LW Braden Christoffer and a three-point night from C Josh Currie in the win. RW Jesse Puljujarvi scored his first of the season on the power play which turned out to be the game-winner. G Nick Ellis earned his third win of the season, stopping 33 shots.

Texas swept San Diego and San Jose at home last weekend . Friday night against the Gulls, the teams combined for 88 penalty minutes in a 5-4 Stars overtime win. Texas needed a shootout the following night to prevail over the Barracuda, 3-2.

SHOOT TO SCORE
C Josh Currie and RW Jesse Puljujarvi each scored their first goals of the season last night. They are 1-2 on the Condors in shots as well with Currie firing 26 and Puljujarvi snapping off 25 on the season. Last night, they each had three shots with Puljujarvi recording 17 over his last three games.

CONDORS AMONG LEAGUE LEADERS
RW Patrick Russell has two shorthanded goals this season which is tied for the league lead. D Ethan Bear’s 33.3% shooting percentage leads all d-men.

CONDORS NOTES
The Condors were down to 5 d-men for the majority of the night as Ethan Bear left early in the first period and never returned… RW David Gust leads the Condors in goals with three after scoring the game-tying third period goal last night. He led the team with five shots… D Ryan Stanton made his Condors debut last night off injury and was +2… D Mark Fayne returned to the lineup and had an assist… Bakersfield has three power play goals from three different scorers in their last two games (LaLeggia, Rattie, Puljujarvi).

STARS NOTES
Texas starts a four-game California road trip tonight which sees them play everyone except Ontario… The Stars are 4-1-0-1 at home, but 1-2-0-0 on the road on the young season… G Mike McKenna has played the most minutes in the AHL at over 524. He went to the Calder Cup Finals a year ago with Syracuse… D Dillon Heatherington is eighth among blueliners in scoring with six points (3g-3a)… Texas is tied for the league lead with four games getting to overtime.
