GAME PREVIEW presented by Rodriguez & Associates
It is the first of eight meetings on the season between the Condors and Silver Knights. Bakersfield comes in 1-1-0 on the young season while Henderson is off to a 4-0-0 start.
LOOKING BACK
The Condors only mustered 17 shots in a 3-2 setback on Saturday at home to Ontario. Greg McKegg and Xavier Bourgault each scored their first goals of the season.
KNIGHTED
Bakersfield has enjoyed the better of the all-time series since Henderson joined the AHL in 2021. Last year, the Condors went 6-2-0 against the Knights and overall are 17-8-1 against their rivals from Nevada. Bakersfield also won the teams’ only playoff series as well two games to one. At home, the Condors have gone 9-4-0 against Henderson.
GAGNER SIGNS
Sam Gagner, who has played 1,015 NHL games, joined the Condors on an AHL deal yesterday and is expected to make his season debut. It’s not his first trip to Condorstown, having played four games with four points (2g-2a) in 2019 with Bakersfield.
HAMMER TIME
James Hamblin has points in each of the opening two games after an assist on the Condors second goal on Saturday. The fourth-year pro played 10 games with Edmonton and scored 10 times with the Condors a season ago.
OLLIE OLLIE OLLIE
Olivier Rodrigue is expected to make his season debut tonight, a season after finishing in the top 10 in save percentage in the AHL. The Quebec native re-signed in the offseason and went 14-14-1 with a 2.77 and .912 save percentage last season.
GLEASON DISHIN’
Ben Gleason has assists in each of the team’s first two games. He had 33 points (9g-24a) in 68 games with Texas a year ago.
ON THE OTHER SIDE
After missing the postseason last year, the Silver Knights can get off to their best start as a franchise with a win tonight after sweeping both weekends to start the season. They have scored at least four goals in every contest, buoyed by former Condors winger Adam Cracknell’s five points (3g-2a).
UP NEXT
The Condors are off to Tucson for a Friday-Saturday set against the Roadrunners. Both games start at 7 p.m.
