CONDORSTOWN, Calif. – The Bakersfield Condors (28-23-5-1) host the San Diego Gulls (38-15-3-2) on Dignity Health Home Ice at Rabobank Arena. Puck drop is set for 7 p.m. with doors opening and Happy Hour at 6 p.m. After last weekend’s sweep of Tucson, Bakersfield sits three points up on Stockton for the final playoff spot in the Pacific Division.

TONIGHT
The Bakersfield Condors begin a home-and-home series against the San Diego Gulls. Bakersfield was 6-2-3-1 against the Gulls a season ago including a 4-1-1-0 mark on home, but San Diego has won all five of the matchups this season.

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT
Bakersfield swept Tucson on the road last Friday and Saturday with 4-0 and 4-3 wins. Friday night, G Jonas Gustavsson turned aside all 27 shots for his first AHL shutout. Saturday night, C Anton Lander potted a power-play goal in the third period for a 4-3 win.

San Diego led 3-0 after two at home to San Jose and cruised to a 5-1 win over the Barracuda. D Shea Theodore led the way with a pair of goals and G Dustin Tokarski stopped 36 of 37 in the win.

PLAYOFF SITUATION
Bakersfield controls its destiny heading into the final 11 games of the regular season. The Condors sit three points up on Stockton for the final Pacific Division playoff spot. With a win on Wednesday night, the Texas Stars sit in sixth, a game under .500, and six games back of the Condors, who are five games above .500. Bakersfield and Stockton play once more on April 14 at Stockton Arena.

GUS STEPS UP IN MARCH
The month of March has been kind to Condors netminder Jonas Gustavsson. He is ninth in the AHL with a 1.69 goals-against average and has stopped 135 of his last 144 shots faced (.938). On Friday, he recorded his first AHL shutout, stopping all 27 shots in a 4-0 win over Tucson.

CONDORS NOTES
RW Jaedon Descheneau has goals in each of his last four games, the most for a Condors player this season. He has seven points (4g-3a) in his last seven games… D Jordan Oesterle has 19 points (4g-15a) in his last 23 games and is +8 over that span… C Anton Lander registered his 13th multi-point game of the season on Saturday and his fifth three-point game. He has 25 points (12g-13a) over his last 18 games and is +12 during that time.

RW Spencer Abbott (1g-5a) and C Sam Carrick (3g-3a) each were acquired at the NHL trade deadline from the Rockford IceHogs… D Shea Theodore has eight points (3g-5a) and is +4 in his last six games… G Kevin Boyle is 4-1-0-1 with a 2.03 GAA and a .936 save percentage in the month of March… San Diego is 27-4-2-2 since Christmas (Dec. 25).
