The Bakersfield Condors wrap a two-game set against the Texas Stars. It is the second of six meetings on the season between the two sides and the third game of an eight-game homestand for the Condors.Bakersfield is 0-7-0-0 against Texas all-time.
IN CASE YOU MISSED IT
Bakersfield trailed 2-0 after one frame and could not muster a comeback in a 3-1 loss to Texas last night. C Kris Newbury scored for the second straight game. G Laurent Brossoit made 36 saves on 39 shots.
Texas scored twice in the first, including a shorthanded goal from C Austin Fyten in a 3-1 win. G Maxime Lagace earned his fourth win of the season with 34 saves on 35 shots. RW Matt Mangene added the insurance for the Stars in the third period, who won their fourth straight game.
GOOD STARTS = GOOD SUCCESS
Early on in the season, the Condors record has been reflective of the team’s play in the first period. Bakersfield is 2-0-0-0 when leading after one period, but 1-4-0-0 when tied or trailing after 20 minutes. The Condors trailed 2-0 after one period last night after having outscored their past two opponents 5-0 in first periods.
LONG HOMESTAND
Bakersfield is in the midst of an eight-game homestand stretching from Nov. 2 thru Nov. 22. During the span, the Condors will see six different teams and five in the Pacific Division. From Nov. 2 – Dec. 10 the Condors will play 13 of 15 on home ice. Bakersfield is 1-2-0-0 on home ice this year, but have outscored opponents 9-6.
