The Bakersfield Condors (21-23-4, 46pts) led 3-0 after two periods and hung on for a 3-2 win over the Coachella Valley Firebirds (31-9-5, 67pts) on Saturday. Dylan Holloway (1st) made his season debut, and scored, for the team after playing 51 with Edmonton. Markus Niemelainen returned after missing seven games due to injury.
Calvin Pickard stopped 34 of 36 for his 12th win of the season as the Condors improved to 10-5-3 since Jan. 1.
Bakersfield is now 2-0-1 against the Firebirds, who have the best record in the AHL.
