Last minute Condors heroics come up short in 3-2 shootout loss
The Eagles extended the lead in the middle frame, with F Ray Kaunisto rapping in fifth of the campaign on a rebound opportunity. Shots were 9-8 Colorado in the period, and 26-17 through 40 minutes.
The Condors capitalized on a fluky rebound chance eight minutes into the third, when a shot from F Jacob Lagace bounced straight up into the air, behind G Adam Brown and was banged in by F Nicholas Tremblay. With the goaltender pulled in the final minutes of the game, Tremblay added his second of the night to tie it up and force overtime.
After a scoreless overtime session, Colorado took it in the shootout, beating Stewart only twice, but Brown was strong, surrendering just one shootout goal, and the Eagles earned the extra point.
