Oilers assign Bouchard and Starrett
The Edmonton Oilers have assigned d-man Evan Bouchard and goaltender Shane Starrett to the American Hockey League’s (AHL) Bakersfield Condors.
Bouchard was drafted 10th overall in the 2018 NHL Draft and finished third on the Condors in 2019 Calder Cup Playoffs scoring with eight points (3g-5a) in eight games. He recorded 53 points (16g-37a) in 45 games with the London Knights of the Ontario Hockey League (OHL) last season.
Starrett went 27-7-5 with a 2.33 goals-against average and a .917 save percentage in his rookie season with the Condors in 2018-19. He was named to the 2018-19 AHL All-Rookie Team and Second All-Star Team. From January 12 – February 25, he won 14 consecutive starts as the Condors won 17 straight games, second longest in AHL history.
