Space Jerseys – Jersey Off Our Backs vs. Colorado – TONIGHT!!

The Condors will wrap up their six-game home stand with a Saturday night showdown against the Colorado Eagles. The team will wear special space-themed jerseys, to honor Kern County’s historic contribution to the U.S. Space Program, sponsored by Bright House Networks, La Campesina 92.5 and Bud Light.

The jerseys are adorned with images of a shuttle launch, the ISS, the moon and the famous landing strip at Edwards AFB, as well as a special version of the logo complete with a space helmet! Five of the collectible jerseys will be given away for free, while the rest will be auctioned off to raise cash for the Asthma & COPD Education Center.

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT
After two fights in the opening 62 seconds of the first period, Colorado jumped on the board early and raced out to a 3-0 lead after one, never looking back en route to a 6-3 victory. LW Jesse Gimblett and LW Hans Benson each dropped the mitts to begin the game for Bakersfield. RW Tyler Helfrich and LW Kyle Calder each scored goals which cut the Colorado lead to two on separate occasions, but it was not enough. D Tyson Gimblett also scored for the Condors.

LW Kyle Calder had 1g-1a in his season debut last night… F Alex Hudson was loaned to Manchester yesterday and did not dress for the Monarchs…D Tyson Gimblett leads all rookies with 120 PIM…C Casey Pierro-Zabotel had two assists last night. It was his fourth multiple-point game of the season. He has five points (2g-3a) against the Eagles this season…F Peter Boyd has scored exactly half (4) of his eight goals this season against Colorado… LW Hans Benson fought Colorado F/D Alex Penner last night, in the fourth bout between the two this season.
EAGLES NOTES
Colorado will be without the services of three key members of their lineup who are currently on loan to the American Hockey League. The team’s top two leading scorers, F Chad Costello (57p) and F Jack Combs (37p), are both with the Worcester Sharks, while D Jon Landry is with the Bridgeport Sound Tigers…The Eagles snapped a four-game winless streak last night which had matched the franchise-high…D Aaron Schneekloth leads the ECHL in scoring among defensemen with 35 points (13g-22a)…D/F Alex Penner leads the league with 173 penalty minutes.
