SpongeBob SquarePants and SillyBandz highlight this weekend
Bakersfield, Calif. – The Bakersfield Condors, ECHL affiliate of the Minnesota Wild, wrap up their three-week home stand with three contests this week on Wednesday night against the Victoria Salmon Kings, as well as Friday and Saturday night against the Las Vegas Wranglers. Doors open at 6 p.m., the puck drops at 7 p.m. all three nights.
Wednesday, Mar. 23
The Condors host Blood Drive Night Wednesday night against the Salmon Kings, sponsored by My 45 and KUZZ 107.9. Anyone who donated blood at Houchin Blood Bank during the month of March can get in to Wednesday’s game for just $1 with their voucher from Houchin.
Friday, Mar. 25
Friday night, the first 2,000 kids 12 and under will get a pack of Condors SillyBandz, sponsored by 98.5 The Fox. The SillyBandz are the latest, stylish rubber bracelets craze, which bounce back into different shapes when you take them off. The Condors SillyBandz come in different colors and shapes of a hockey stick, the Condors logo, a Zamboni, a skate and more. Friday is also the final T.H.I.N.K. Night (Turning Hockey Into New Knowledge) of the season. The T.H.I.N.K. program, sponsored by Mercy & Memorial Hospitals, Wells Fargo Bank and Diamond Technologies, teams the Condors up with area schools to promote success in the classroom. Of the thousands of kids that have come to games this season through the program, four finalists will be chosen for a chance to win a brand new computer, courtesy of Diamond Technologies. The drawing will take place during the 2nd intermission.
Saturday, Mar. 26
Saturday night’s game concludes the nine-game home stand by welcoming back a Condorstown favorite, Nickelodeon’s SpongeBob SquarePants! SpongeBob, courtesy of Bright House Networks, 101.5 KGFM and Farmers Insurance, will be hanging out in the Condors Photo Booth taking pictures with fans. Don’t miss your chance to meet him – he only leaves his pineapple under the sea for special occasions!
During the first intermission, contestants from the Body Xchange’s Biggest Loser competition will take the ice to show off their new physique and crown a winner.
Pregame Jersey Auction starts Friday!
Starting Friday night, and extending to Saturday’s game as well, the Condors will begin their silent auction for the team’s All-Star Themed pregame warm-up jerseys. Several of the jerseys will be available for bid at stations on the concourse, with a new “buy it now” feature that will let fans skip the hassle of haggling and get right to winning! The auction proceeds will benefit the Active 20/30 Club.
Autograph Booth:
Following every home game, players will be available at the Bakersfield Marriott at the Convention Center Autograph Booth, located on the arena concourse behind section 108. The schedule for the week includes C Joel Broda and D Josh Burrows on Wednesday, D Erik Burgdoerfer and G Brian Stewart on Friday and F Andrew Ianiero and LW Guillaume Lefebvre on Saturday. Players will be available approximately 20 minutes after the conclusion of each contest to greet fans and sign autographs.
