Tordjman named ECHL Goaltender of the Week
Broda and Zingoni return to Houston
Bakersfield, Calif. – The Bakersfield Condors, host of the 2011 ECHL All-Star Classic and ECHL affiliate of the Minnesota Wild, announced today that the ECHL has selected G Josh Tordjman as the ECHL Goaltender of the Week, for the week of Dec. 13 – 19.
Tordjman, 24, went picked up two wins in two games in Ontario last weekend, surrendering just one goal in each outing and stopping 44 of 46 shots faced (.957 save percentage). He backstopped the Condors to a 4-1 triumph on Friday night, and followed it up with a 24-save 5-1 victory on Saturday.
The Montreal native ran his personal win streak to four games, dating back to the previous week. He has allowed only six goals in those four games, with a .942 save percentage. On the season, Tordjman is 8-8-1 with one shutout, a 2.85 goals against average and a .914 save percentage. He ranks in the top 10 in the ECHL in wins, minutes and saves.
Two go up, one stays up
The Minnesota Wild reassigned C Joel Broda and C Pete Zingoni from Bakersfield to the Houston Aeros (their American Hockey League affiliate) on Monday. Both players appeared in the last four Condors games. Broda recorded seven points (2g-5a) and Zingoni had three points (1g-2a) during their stay.
RW Erick Lizon continues his stay in the AHL, on a Professional Try-Out (PTO) with the Worcester Sharks. Lizon skated in three games over the weekend with the Sharks, recording five penalty minutes. He made his AHL debut in Hartford against the Connecticut Whale on Friday.
Injury Update
The Condors lost two players to injury on Saturday in Ontario. D Joey Ryan left the game with an arm injury in the second period, and is expected to return in a couple weeks. RW Pascal Morency aggravated his previous knee injury and will be further evaluated this week.

The Condors will back on home ice for back-to-back games against the Stockton Thunder immediately following Christmas. On Sunday, December 26, the Condors will be giving away Lunchbox Tins to the first 2,000 kids ages 12 and under, sponsored by ABC23, La Preciosa 105.3, and American Business Machines. Doors open at 5 p.m. with the drop of the puck at 6 p.m. The following night is High School and College ID Night, courtesy of My 45 and 92.5 La Campesina. All high school and college students can get $1.00 admission by presenting their student ID. Monday’s game is back at the usual time, with the doors open at 6 p.m. and the drop of the puck at 7 p.m.
