Trukhno signs PTO with AHL Peoria
Bakersfield, Calif. – The Bakersfield Condors, official ECHL affiliate of the Minnesota Wild, announced that F Slava Trukhno has signed a professional try-out contract with the Peoria Rivermen in the American Hockey League.
Trukhno, who turns 24 later this month, signed with the Condors on Nov. 19, and despite missing the first month of the season quickly ascended the team’s scoring ranks. The Moscow native leads Bakersfield with 24 assists and ranks third in points with 32, just four points off the team lead. He is also tied for first on the club with eight multiple point games, and enjoyed the longest scoring streak on the season for Bakersfield, at seven games, from Jan. 1-15. He also has a point in each of the Condors last five games, and has been held off the scoresheet just twice in the last 14 contests.
The PTO marks a return to the AHL for Trukhno, who spent the entirety of his three-year career prior to joining Bakersfield with the Springfield Falcons. He was a fourth round draft pick of the Edmonton Oilers in the 2005 NHL Entry Draft.
The Rivermen are the AHL affiliate of the St. Louis Blues, and their ECHL affiliate is the Alaska Aces.
