Win Lunch with the Players or a NEW Condors jersey when we #ToppleTheThunder

CONDORSTOWN, Calif. – The  Bakersfield Condors, one of the ECHL’s leader in social media presence, announced a social media campaign to let their fans decide when the team’s brand new 2012-13 jersey will be unveiled. Fans who enter will be eligible to receive one of the brand new replica jerseys and a unique opportunity to have lunch with the team. 

The goal is simple. In honor of the team’s 15th Anniversary season,the team is looking to reach 15,000 Facebook fan page likes (click here and then ‘like’ the page) which would give them more than the rival Stockton Thunder’s total. Then, on Twitter (click here and hit “follow” @Condors) the team simply wants more followers than the Thunder (currently 300 behind).

Fans can follow the team on Twitter and encourage others to follow by using the hashtag “#ToppleTheThunder.” When both goals are achieved, no matter the time, the team will unveil their NEW jersey for the upcoming season. As an incentive for liking and following the team, one lucky fan will receive one of the new jerseys while another fan will win a lunch with the players. It does not get any easier than that.

“What we’re looking for is to really put it in the hands of our fans,” said Condors Team President Matthew Riley. “We just don’t like Stockton period and we’re calling on the great fans of Condorstown to put them in their place. Unveiling the jersey this way is fun and as a bonus, just for participating and following along, one fan will receive one of the new jerseys and one will get a unique opportunity to have lunch with the players.”

As pictured, the team will have FOUR jerseys this upcoming season. Added to the white and black jerseys this year will be the return of the burgundy sweater the team has worn in the past. However, the fourth jersey will be a brand new look for the team and one that will feature prominently for the 2012-13 season. 

“I’m really looking forward to our new jersey this season,” saidCondors Head Coach Matt O’Dette. “It’s sharp, unique and really looks good. Very excited to mix it up a bit and have a fresh take on an old school jersey. To topple Stockton in the process will just make it even sweeter.”

In the unlikely event the fans do not #ToppleTheThunder, Condorstown will have to wait until Opening Night to see the new jersey. But, why wait?
